Praising someone can save a life

My friend, Evelyn, told me a story that astonished me. A man was standing on a bridge and was about to jump off to commit suicide. A woman who was jogging by him stopped to talk to him. She raved about the wonder-ful hat that he wore. She asked him where he got it. He said he would give it to her, as he wouldn't need it any more. She said that no one could look better in that hat than him. She left and went back to her jogging. After all of her compliments, he felt so good about himself that he was restored and started a new life.

Is it possible for us to stop condemning each other? Can we stop hurting each other and start helping each other? I know that certain special people we build up and nurture. But, can we extend that love to a larger circle and restore our beloved planet NOW? Can we put a stop to all of the cursing and permissiveness in the world? Can we have higher standards and have more civility in the world? Can we put a stop to apathy? We can't drift any longer spiraling downward. We all are need to wake up. You are all angels, your wings are just invisible.

Wow! How wonderful a smile and an affirmation can brighten someone's day! We need a lot more of this instead of the cold stares and contempt many seem to give.
