"How to win Friends and Influence People" by Dale Carnegie is an amazing book. It was written decades ago, but the words are timeless. He wrote an entire chapter on smiling!
Here is the first paragraph from that chapter.

"At a dinner party in New York, one of the guests, a woman who had inherited money, was eager to make a pleasing impression on everyone. She had squandered a modest fortune on sables, diamonds. and pearls. But she hadn't done anything whatever about her face. It radiated sourness and selfishness. She didn't realize what everyone knows: namely, that the expression one wears on one's face is far more important than the clothes one wears on one's back."

Do not envy others who may have fancy clothes, fancy cars and big homes. You have no idea what their life is like behind closed doors. Yes, we all need money to pay our bills. But, the emphasis on more, more, more material things, and forgetting about what is most important in life, is atheistic materialism. Don't let anyone steal your joy today! If someone is belittling you, don't take it in. Don't allow it or walk away if you have to if they won't stop. I believe in forgiveness, but if someone continues to abuse others, and that is their practice, it is not help you keep you smile. We need people in this critical time to keep their joy as much as possible. Do what moves you. Do what you feel is in your heart. Your heart doesn't lie.
